May Flowers

“The wind is tossing the lilacs,
The new leaves laugh in the sun,
And the petals fall on the orchard wall,
But for me the spring is done.

Beneath the apple blossoms
I go a wintry way,
For love that smiled in April
Is false to me in May.”
–  Sara Teasdale

Did I tell you that my favourite month of the year is May 🌸?

Why not?

This is the month when I was brought to this wonderful world many years ago by my beloved mother; and because of that life-changing event, I get the privilege to see, to read, to hear, to smell, to explore, to enjoy, to love all the amazing people and this beautiful planet, one day at a time;

This the month when my favourite flowers – peonies and cherry blossoms- are blooming to its fullest and prettiest;

This is the month when the sun is beaming and the breeze is warm;

This is the month when the birds are singing happily and cheerfully. Like it or not, they start their choir at 5am sharp every morning in the bushes outside our little backyard;

Two years ago I started my new leadership role with a French pharmaceutical company. I was not sure what I was getting myself into, but when I looked back at the two year journey, I have nothing but gratefulness. It’s a journey that’s full of changes. So much so that I can take a new change pretty much as a cup of coffee now. Yup, changes happen every single day.

New bosses, new direct reports, new structures, new offices, new peers, new tasks, new ideas, new meetings, new books, new news, and what else is new?! 😃

Embrace the new, and be positive. Life is a wonder.

“Be like a flower and turn your face to the sun.”
