I haven’t been very diligent in terms of updating my blog in June.
Because life gets in the way sometimes.
Life does throw some curve balls at us occasionally, but in most of cases she’s quite interesting, dynamic, gentle and sweet.
So, here are a few new anecdotes in June that I’d like to share:
1. My smart, gorgeous and one-in-a-kind niece Yaya triumphed in her university entrance exam in June. As millions of young students in China are in the middle of anxiously picking the university and majors based on the exam scores (high or low), Yaya has been successfully accepted by Tsinghua University – one of the top universities in China – due to her amazingly high exam score. I have never doubted her ability of entering the best university in China, but when it becomes a reality all of a sudden, I was stunned, with relief, happiness, excitement and pride!
Bravo, Yaya! 🏆🏆🏆
2. This weekend we went to see the polo game (part of the #poloforheart charity event) for the first time. I didn’t do my homework properly to understand the rules and history beforehand, but once we got there, I was like “yeah, who cares about the rules when the horses are “flying”.”
People say polo is a sport of kings that can be played by anyone. I would say polo is a sport of freedom that is played by the truly brave humans. Yes, I did see brave girls among the rides too.

3. FIFA World Cup! Once in four years. Need I say more?!
Open a can of chilled beer, turn up the sound volume of your TV, sink yourself into that favourite couch, now, let the fun begin!!
I’m voting for Germany 🇩🇪 because of the handsomeness (is this a word? Hehe) of the entire team, and yes, the coach too! and of course the outstanding skills the team masters. Go Germany Go!

Last but not the least, it’s Pride week this week. Love is love. We should include and respect everyone no matter what race, gender, background, preference he or she has. At the end of the day, we are all human beings with equal rights to be ourselves.
June is the gateway to Summer. Take a deep breath, we are going to dive into the pool and enjoy the beautiful long summer days.
