I have a fairly small-sized family in Canada, and I don’t have a large group of friends either (Confession: I have quite a stringent set of rules when it comes to the friendship).
This means gifts shopping is not a troublesome topic for me during the Christmas season.
List some ideas, plan some budget, and off I go.
As we all know, if you really care for someone, you will know what he or she likes; and not only that, you will find opportunities throughout the year to tell the person how much he/she means to you.
The unexpected gifts always weigh more than the obligatory gifts that we have all received at either the birthday celebration party or under the Xmas tree.
There is really no excuse for one to wait until the end of the year to buy a coffee mug wrapped with a piece of glossy paper that is marked by Santa Claus and his reindeer.
Seriously!
The best things in life aren’t things anyway. They are caring thoughts, tender love and random kindness.
The best gifts under any Christmas tree are the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.
My idea of Christmas or any family-oriented festivals, whether in an old-fashioned or a modernized format, is straight-forward: do not show your love on that specific day only, it counts and it doesn’t; show it all year long, and only that way the gathering and gifts exchanging on the special day can be special.
May your holiday be filled with love and presents. ❤️
Well said! May your Christmas be filled with abundant joy! #TorontoStrong! Blessings!
