We welcomed the new year of 2023 with sunshine and warm temperature today. A perfect opportunity to step out of the apartment and wander into the nature. Based on Google Siri’s recommendation, we headed off to Jim Thorpe, a small but vibrant town situated in the Pocono mountains in eastern Pennsylvania, US.
What amazes me the most is not the scenic Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway (but do take a ride with the century-old train pulled by diesel engine!), but all the colors displayed throughout the little town: the doors, the decorations, the churches, the running creek, and many more.
And, COLOR, to me is a statement and an attitude. In 2023, I’d like to approach life through colorful lens.
The Pantone color of 2023 is Viva Magenta, a color that meets societal uncertainty with an “emboldened message”. As Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute rightfully pointed out: “ (this color) is telling us to find joy, to not take ourselves so seriously, to be true to who we are, and most importantly, to enjoy life.”
To end today’s post, I’m going to share with you a note that I discovered in the gorgeous Christmas gift basket that my dear friend Julie put together for me. And Julie herself, a vibrant and warm-hearted lady whose beauty shines inside and out, is a true reflection of the word COLOR.
Resolution: make 2023 a colorful and electrifying year.
