Emily in Paris

This is the show that everybody loves to hate-watch, and no matter how bad the reviews may be, many (me included) still binge-watched it within a day or two as soon as the season was released on Netflix during the Christmas holiday.

As a person who has lived in France and currently working in the US, here is my review:

The plot tries to illustrate a tug of war between the French elegance and the American obnoxiousness; while the fashion is a mixture of both. At the end of the day, itโ€™s a little bit of everything and itโ€™s about nothing. Have a laugh, kill some time and then move on with your life.

And in case you are curious, here are a couple of reviews from the media:

๐Ÿ“ Rollingstone:

โ€˜Emily in Parisโ€™ Loses Its Camp Magic in Messy Third Season. The once-beloved Netflix series seems stuck on repeat โ€” while the rest of us have moved on

๐Ÿ“ The Guardian:

The plot lurches from melodrama to high farce, itโ€™s frequently baffling and the supposedly luxury marketing could have come from a task on The Apprentice. But โ€“ whisper it โ€“ itโ€™s really fun โ€ฆ

๐Ÿ“ The Review Geek:

The show does not allow for tension to build, rest, and then be resolved. Every roadblock to the protagonist and the side characters appears to be resolved quickly, resulting in less tension. Additionally, the show somehow doesnโ€™t make logical sense and is overly cheerful when it does not have to be.

๐Ÿ‘€ Happy watching and tell me how you like or dislike it in the comment below ๐Ÿ‘‡

Happy Friday. ๐Ÿ’ƒ
